Last Friday, I was at my favorite organic supermarket. It was 8:30 in the morning – I love this time of day, everything is still so fresh, shiny and the store is almost empty. And there were only a few employees and three other customers in the spacious Kreuzberg LPG biosupermarket, formerly the stables of the imperial cavalry. As I slowly made my way to the broccoli at the vegetable shelf, I obviously got too close to a woman who was also making her way to the vegetable shelf. She immediately fled to the next corner.  As soon as I got closer than 3 meters, she also fled from the corner and looked at me in fear.

I had to digest this little anti-encounter at home first. I asked myself, how should I face these people? How should I deal with them? Just ignore them? Many questions came, and then this morning another chapter in the organic supermarket:

This person was really afraid to breathe in viruses. Besides the usual mask, he had several filters in use, and his eye area was also protected separately. He was very friendly at the checkout, but it was difficult to understand him and he bought only mineral water, organic toast and some ready-made products.

In my imagination I ask myself, how did these people live before the pandemic, what were they afraid of 2 years ago?

The longer I think about these people – there is no choice. I can only treat them with the same respect and impartiality as everyone else. Only support and love can make a difference. Even if inside my head keeps shaking.
